January 2021 sales: Maruti Suzuki registers 4.3% growth

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) sold a total of 160,752 vehicles (domestic + exports) in January 2021, registering a growth of 4.3% compared to 154,123 vehicles sold in January 2020. The domestic sales, however, saw a marginal decline of 0.6% last month.

The ‘Mini’ segment with Alto and S-Presso shipped 25,153 units in January 2021, registering a decline of 2.8% compared to January 2020, while the ‘Compact’ segment with WagonR, Swift and Baleno saw a decline of 8.8% last month. Surprisingly, the Ciaz registered a strong 61.3% growth in January 2021. The UV segment with Vitara Brezza, Ertiga and S-Cross registered a healthy growth of 45.1% last month.
