It’s the range-topping Type 62-2.

Remember the Lotus Type 62-2 coachbuilt by Radford we read about just over a month ago? Well, Radford has revealed a new limited edition of the already limited Type 62-2, called the Type 62-2 John Player Special. The car will be showcased at the Goodwood Revival this weekend.

Billed as the “most extreme version” of Type 62-2, the John Player Special pays homage to Lotus 72’s black and gold livery. The gold lines have been applied rather tastefully, tracing the silhouette of the car. For the uninitiated, John Player (John Player & Sons) was a cigarette manufacturer and sponsor of Team Lotus. But anyway, of the total 62 Type 62-2, Lotus and Radford will build 12 JPS-liveried units.
