Suzuki unveiled the 2022 Katana at the 2021 EICMA show in Milan, Italy. The semi-faired motorcycle is expected to go on sale in European markets in spring 2022. The styling pays homage to the original 1981 Katana with a squarish headlight and vizor combo.

Highlights include twin-spar aluminium alloy frame, 825 mm seat height, 43 mm adjustable KYB fork at the front and an adjustable monoshock at the rear, 320 mm dual discs at the front with Brembo calipers, bi-directional quick shift system, and electronics such as Suzuki Drive Mode Selector and Suzuki Traction Control System.

Depending on the market, Suzuki will also offer a Samurai Pack that includes a different dark tinted windscreen, color splashes on the tail fairing and seats, a decal kit, tank pad, carbon clutch & starter cover, carbon front fender, and carbon alternator cover.

The 2022 Katana is powered by a 999 cc in-line 4-cylinder engine that pumps out 112 kW (152 metric hp) at 11,000 rpm and 106 Nm (78 lb-ft) of torque at 9,250 rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Thanks to a tuned exhaust system, the new Katana claims to offer a distinctive roar as well.
