MG Motor India has delivered more than 500 units of Astor on the occasion of Dhanteras-Diwali festivals in the country. This is particularly special considering the acute shortage of chips, the company said in an official statement, adding that it is trying its best to meet the target of 4,000-5,000 deliveries by the end of 2021.
The Astor bookings are closed for 2021, but buyers can continue to book the vehicle for deliveries in 2022. The Creta and Seltos-rivalling SUV was launched a month ago at an introductory starting price of INR 9.78 lakh. There are two petrol engines on offer: a 110 hp 1.5L N/A unit and a 140 hp 1.35L turbo unit. Read more here.
