Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV shows off its Hyperscreen interior

The SUV version of the all-electric EQS sedan is all set to make its global debut on April 19th, 2022, but as you might be familiar with the way Mercedes-Benz debuts its new product these days, the interiors have been fully revealed prior to revealing the vehicle itself.

Speaking of which, it’s a déjà vu isn’t it? Unless you’re told exactly what you’re looking at, you probably wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between this, the EQS (sedan) and the EQE, thanks to that MBUX Hyperscreen that comprises a digital instrument cluster, an infotainment display and a passenger display.

The rest of the cabin is, again, looks like something you would expect from a vehicle of this class, with the finest leather and wood appointments. Also, notice the ambient lighting that runs around the front seats as well. We don’t have the picture of the third-row yet, but it wouldn’t be anything surprising. And yes, a Maybach version is also in the pipeline.

Mercedes-Benz will produce the EQS SUV and the EQE SUV at its plant in Alabama, as part of a global push to produce all-electric vehicles at seven locations on three continents.

Technical details of the EQS SUV are not available just yet, but Mercedes said something about the battery pack. And that is, the cell chemistry comprises nickel, cobalt and manganese in the ratio of 8:1:1, billed as a highly advanced one. The reduction of cobalt content to around 10%, in addition to a CO2-neutral production of the batteries, enhances sustainability, the company added.
