In case you missed the story, Polestar has decided to make the O2 concept a reality. The production model is gonna be called the Polestar 6 and is expected to make its debut sometime in 2026. And to celebrate the fact that the concept is going into production, Polestar is building a special ‘LA Concept’ edition, and apparently, all 500 build slots of the special edition were reserved online within a week of the production announcement.

So, what’s this ‘LA Concept’ edition anyway? Well, as the name suggests, the special edition is gonna look pretty much like the concept. Meaning, it’s gonna be offered in an exclusive Sky Blue paint, light leather interior and similar 21-inch wheels from the O2 concept. And, the production is gonna start with this special edition, meaning, those who want a base model will have to wait more.

The production model is gonna be a hard-top convertible of course, and will be built on Polestar’s bespoke bonded aluminium platform. It’ll feature an 800-volt electric architecture, output figures of up to 650 kW (884 metric hp) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) from a dual motor powertrain, a targeted 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time of 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).

Before any of this, Polestar is gonna debut the Polestar 3 in October 2022, followed by the Polestar 4 sometime in 2023 and Polestar 5, the electric performance 4-door GT based on the Precept concept, in 2024.
