Recently, the DeLorean Alpha5 reminded me of an EV startup from Irvine, for obvious reasons, and I started to wonder if there’s any update. Apparently, there is. As some of you might know, Alpha Motors has listed a whole bunch of products on its website but is yet to ship any. But just when people started to wonder if it’s another vaporware, the company has announced partnerships with Chennai-based Hinduja Tech and Michigan-based UHI Group.
While Hinduja Tech is gonna help with R&D services, UHI Group is gonna be the contract manufacturer—or at least produce kits for Alpha to be assembled at its own facility. Now the big question is of course, when will Alpha start delivering cars, since the necessary partnerships have now been established. Alpha doesn’t have a solid answer for that (yet), but if anything we could understand from the FAQs on its website, the company is still trying to get the Wolf truck series ready for production. But again, no date has been fixed for that.
