Dongfeng Nissan N7 debuts with style & sophistication

Alongside the Frontier Pro PHEV, Nissan showcased the Dongfeng Nissan N7 all-electric sedan at the Auto Shanghai 2025, which happened recently. For the uninitiated, Dongfeng Nissan is a 50-50 joint venture between China’s Dongfeng Group and Nissan. The N7 is nothing but a Nissan-branded version of the Dongfeng eπ 007 (pronounced “e pie” or “Yipai”). Prices in China start at ¥119,900 (USD 16,645).

As you can probably tell, the Dongfeng Nissan N7 and the Dongfeng 007 look almost identical, except for some subtle differences in lighting and wheel design. But the silhouette looks very familiar and reminds us of cars, including Sony Vision-S, Afeela, Polestar Precept and Xpeng P7. You could say that it’s a tried and tested shape. The N7 boasts a drag coefficient of 0.208 Cd. Nissan claims that the light signatures at the front are made up of 710 LEDs, while the rear signatures are made up of 882 LEDs. Buyers can choose from up to 19-inch wheel designs.

While the 007 is available as dual-motor AWD, the N7, for reasons beyond our understanding, is offered only as front-wheel-drive. There are two power output options: 160 kW (217.5 metric hp) and 200 kW (272 metric hp), while the torque remains the same at 305 Nm (225 lb-ft). Two lithium Iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack options are available: 58 kWh and 73 kWh, both with a 400-volt architecture. Depending on the variant, the CLTC range is claimed to be up to 635 km (394.5 mi).

Key features inside include a 15.6-inch central infotainment screen powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P processor, ‘zero-pressure’ seating with an AI-based, adaptive posture system, which adjusts the seats based on input from 49 individual sensors, an optional 14-speaker audio system, and a refrigerator.
