Porsche continues to enjoy good times in 2021 as it delivered a total of 153,656 vehicles worldwide between January and June, registering a growth of 31% compared to the same period last year. China remains unbeaten as the brand’s largest single market.

Of the total deliveries, the Cayenne models accounted for 44,050 units — a growth of 12% over the previous year. The Macan takes second place with 43,618 units delivered — a growth of 27% over the previous year. Next up is the 911 with 20,611 units — an increase of 22%, closely followed by the all-electric Taycan with 19,822 deliveries. The Panamera and 718 models (Boxster and Cayman) occupy 4th and 5th places with 13,633 and 11,922 units delivered and with 6% and 33% growths, respectively.

With 36,326 units delivered, the United States registered a strong growth of 50% in the first half. But as mentioned, it’s China that apparently consumes a lot of Porsches in the world.

After an intensive first half year in 2021, we can report a very positive result. Our order books are full. At the same time, we are aware of the uncertainties caused by the Corona pandemic and the semiconductor supply situation. We are continuing to keep a close eye on the overall situation while maintaining our optimistic stance. — Detlev von Platen, Member of the Executive Board for Sales and Marketing, Porsche

von Platen added that “the rate of electrification is growing in all regions. This development confirms the path we have taken with our drive strategy. In Europe, around 40% of the cars currently being delivered have an electric motor – either a purely electric vehicle or a plug-in hybrid”.
